- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
- Drain the excess fat from the skillet thoroughly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, thawed hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Fold in half of the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Top the casserole with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the potatoes are tender.
Notes
For the best melting results, shred your own cheddar cheese from a block. Thawing the hashbrowns slightly ensures even cooking throughout the casserole. This dish stores well in the refrigerator and can be reheated for easy lunches throughout the week.
